He had been out for a few days, and now four weeks since the attack... Dr. Katze waited in his office for his patient Pierce Xander. The wall was down, locked, and there was no way that anyone besides God (or whatever you believed in) was getting through. Thankfully, the medicine and the excellent care he was given had caused Lynx to... heal quite well.
The wall wasn't his option, but with threat of keeping Xander in solitary confinement for a longer period of time was the absolute reason he was having it lowered.
He was waiting now, patiently for the werewolf to come! Drinking down four large glasses of chocolate milkshakes; he of course was nervous about seeing his attacker once again.
What man wouldn't be? So here in his office with more pictures of smileys on the wall, now in categories of stages of where they were in the process. Three patients, in the three months (maybe?) that Lynx had been here, were already on their way in outpatient treatment. Anyone had to admit that this doctor was a miracle worker.
It came with the smileys.
Mink, his beloved kitty, was currently in the bathroom because Lynx was afraid of her getting harmed in any way shape or form by the dog-man.
T_T His poor baby!

the first week was guilt. all he could do was pace around his small, white cell, unable to think of anything besides what he had done. a couple of times he attempted to read his books, but he always ended up throwing them back on the shelves after two lines. he tried to sleep, and sometimes he did for about five hours, but he never got any rest from it. the trays of food offered to him mostly went untouched.
the second week was misery. his depression made him sick to his stomach. he couldn’t even look at food without feeling ill. the previous week’s lack of sleep caught up with him and he fell unconscious for long hours on multiple occasions. when he was awake, he began to feel the pain of solitude again. he missed stan and dan, always just outside his door. he missed poe, who probably thought he had died or something. hell, he missed the raucous noise of the cafeteria and the sound of water hitting the floors of the showers. he tried to fill the silence with quiet, forlorn howls, but it always made him feel more alone.
it was the third week that the wolf decided to grow restless. sometimes he would growl at nothing but the padded walls, and at night he would thrash about, snarling and hurling things around. the mornings were always eerily calm and spent putting everything neatly back in place. meals were devoured hungrily to power his fits of rage. he would collapse in exhaustion otherwise. he had lost weight in the first two weeks. but not even that could stop his ferocious anger at being isolated.
by the fourth week, he felt dead. no shame, no depression, and no fury bothered him. all of his time was spent simply lying there. not even when he was awake did he bother opening his eyes. perhaps subconsciously, he had decided that doing nothing would eventually kill him, and that would be better than having to continue being alone. his tiny room had driven him crazy over the many days. he didn’t want to look at it anymore. maybe, once in a long while, he would allow himself to dream of being somewhere else, but he always found that that “somewhere else” was painful and ended up right back where he started.
then his door opened. one of the floor doctors told him to get up and, fearing further punishment, he obeyed. as silently as usual, he trailed stan through the halls and found himself at a vaguely familiar door. the guard opened it, shoved him in, followed him in, and closed the door behind them. xander saw katze sitting at his desk, looking jumpy and slightly anxious. at the sight, the lycanthrope felt the humiliation return and he sank down quietly into “his” chair, which had been pulled closer to the wall of glass that separated the two halves of the room. he did not feel able to look at the therapist or write anything on the white board left on the table beside him. he didn’t even bother with making sure stan was still behind him.

Lynx would frown, but he had done enough of that with Izzy. Sitting there, and the fifth was downed, he cleared his throat. How awkward was this situation!? Blushes somewhat, mentally, and feels so embarrassed. Yet, he was scared. Honestly scared.
The bite on his neck, not fully healed, showed brightly, angry pink against his flesh. Looks to the side, revealing it more, and takes a cup of hotcoco now sipping on it.
Turns back to his patient. "So, Xander... What has happened in the past four weeks?" He was being kind and polite to the male, making sure words were chosen carefully and Mink was safely in the bathroom. He would absolutely die if anything happened to his precious kitty!

the politeness was honestly a little daunting. xander was scared, too. he still thought katze would be out to get him after what had happened, so if he screwed up the tiniest bit, he’d probably get thrown back in his room for months. it was terrible. looking back, he couldn’t even fathom how he had survived the confinement during his first year. but then, he hadn’t had anyone that he wanted to see on the outside.
his frightened eyes looked up at katze, not very far on the other side of the wall. the first thing he saw was the angry pink scar on the therapist’s throat. xander immediately felt sick, but he hadn’t eaten in days so all he could do was cringe.
he picked up the dry erase board and held it on his lap, trying to find the right words. he didn’t want to anger katze. the sarcasm would have to go, or he might get locked up again.
i sat around in my room, he wrote with the signature turquoise marker. he hoped that wasn’t enough to be punished again. then a question of his own dawned on him, and he couldn’t stop himself from adding, why did they let me out?

Dr. Katze blinked a moment, and didn't like that question. The truth was something he wasn't too proud of.
Yet, he was probably the most honest doctor. He looked down, not wanting to gaze at Xander when he said this. "I pulled some strings, Xander. You will not be restricted into your room, but let out like it was before... except... your guards will be guarding you more-so than normal. A little more in the excessiveness of watching..."
Looks back up, and clicks up the collar of his shirt to hide the bite, figuring the other shouldn't see that angry mark against his flesh.
"...Now... Is there anything you want to talk about today?"

more excessive watch. yeah, he had figured that out when his north sector privileges had been revoked. but… at least he wouldn’t be caged up like an animal anymore. he probably would have died if he’d spent one more day in there. it was horrible.
but what katze said… he had pulled some strings? wasn’t he the therapist who wanted his patient to suffer more than he already did? xander looked up at lynx with an expression quizzical and anxious. the psychiatrist had turned up his collar, blocking the red mark from xander’s vision. that was a tiny relief, but…
why would you do that? xander looked genuinely confused. if katze’s intentions were really to hurt him, he would just keep him locked up forever. why would he bother talking administration into letting him out? how did that torture him?
for the first time since entering, xander got past his own worry and actually examined the therapist's behavior. the scent of fear was prevalent in katze, as well. why should he be scared? sure, the wolfman had torn a few chunks out of him, but he had tranquilizers, glass walls, guards, and worst of all, an extent of power over xander. it didn't make any sense for him to be afraid.

Blinks at the board for a moment before he then chuckled. Ah, of course the other was suspicious of his actions. Then nodding for a moment, to mentally confirm something.
"You wouldn't believe a word out of my mouth if I told you the reason, Xander." Was being a naked sushi table worth Xander getting out? Yes. Would he do it again? Probably. Though, he was going to feel violated for awhile... "You truly wouldn't."
That fear? It was both of what had happened because of Xander, and what he had done to HELP Xander out. The nervousness was also in his movements, now reaching for his milkshake, and taking a deep drink of the delicious substance. Ah. The nerves calmed somewhat, but not enough to make him feel better...

the doctor’s answer was not far from what xander would have said in a similar situation. for that reason, he didn’t pursue the matter any further. it wouldn’t help if someone nagged him about it, so it probably wouldn’t work with katze either.
xander peered around the room for a moment, feeling the need to accustom himself to every detail of his surroundings. perhaps just to make sure it was real. the edited photo of him with a bright smiley face was about as real as it got. not even he could dream that up.
where’s your cat? was all he asked about the room.

There was an automatic answer. "In the bathroom." Why? So Xander wouldn't try to eat her or something. With his answer, there was a very loud yowl from the restroom. He turned. "Mink... are you serious?" He asked with a sigh. She had the worst timings.
"...Why do you ask...?" Hopefully Xander didn't notice that the woman named Poe had sat in that chair... Oh boy, he'd be in deep shit...

ah. the bathroom. very nice. at least the little bitch couldn’t glare at him from in there. he might have tried to eat it if it was visible, forget about “unbreakable” glass walls.
wait. there was another scent that he caught. it wasn’t coming from an opposite corner of the room, but rather from the very chair he sat in. xander leaned sideways, trying to get a better sample of the smell. it certainly was not his. a growl built up in his throat. hell with katze’s other patients. this was his chair.
after taking a short while to determine the owner of the strange smell, he remembered who it belonged to. he hadn’t been around her in so long that it was unfamiliar to him, but he hadn’t forgotten it. he never completely forgot a scent. the growl dissipated into a soft whine. what did she think of him by now? she probably thought he had forgotten about her. or even worse, maybe she had forgotten about him…
lynx was left forgotten. yay <3
