he scoffed a little there. as far as he could tell, one person could only take so much negativity, regardless if that wasn't the whole picture.
you know, he never talks in such long sentences outside of session. he is very open with lynx, even if lynx doesn't know it.
"how could you be happy with me? we've been at this for over a year and you still think i'm sick."

Now, there was a lesson for Xander to learn. "...Xander, I'm a little too...me to be depressed by any negativity that's thrown at me, besides..." Points at one of the certificates behind him--there were many. "This certificate is one of happiness. I have a degree in happiness. Do you really think anything could get through that certification?"
Shush, he loved that thing.
"And I don't think you're ill, per-se...My professional opinion is a diagnoses of induced trauma.... th--Nevermind... It's not an illness, really...it's a trail in life."

he was honestly not at all surprised that lynx had a degree in happiness. that actually explained a lot. if only lynx knew how much xander's feelings toward him had changed in just a year. he actually felt quite bad about how he had treated katze previously, but was too prideful to say it out loud.
"being a monster is not a trial in life..." his expression steadily became very dark and bitter. "it's condemnation."

There was a chuckle that was too dark for the man that made it. Lynx looked at Xander carefully, making sure he knew how serious this doctor had turned in just seconds..
"Xander... I..." He paused for a moment. "It's almost funny. You've never met a true monster...I have. And as someone who has met true monsters--I can say with full authority that you're not one."

he just scoffed in immediate dismissal of lynx's statements. they were lies, uninformed and ignorant lies. xander was a monster in more than just a metaphorical sense. as well as a bad man, he could also be a terrible beast, and the therapist was walking proof.
"your throat says otherwise," he declared dryly, referring, of course, to the ugly scar xander had given him on their third session, when he lost control to the wolf. if becoming a man-wolf and tearing someone's throat open didn't make him a literal monster, he didn't know what did.

Fingers the scars in memory... Head tilting. He had a sort of...far-away look. "You panicked, like an animal that was backed into a corner... Nothing more, nothing less."
He was still running his fingers over those scars. Ah, pretty, no? "I was being foolish... So really, it is my own fualt."

"right..." he panicked like an animal? sure. but lynx forgot one small detail: he turned into an animal.
"so, in what world is a werewolf not a monster?" he was just curious. honest. okay, so he was also being sarcastic. but one couldn't ask more of poor xander. he was just a big bottle of sarcastic sauce.

Holds up a knew sign for the other. "What does this ink blot say to you?" It read: 'No sarcasm zone' in big, readable letters for the other. And of course he was smiling as the other read it.
So maybe he just wasn't in the mood for the other's attitude problem.

attitude problem? attitude problem?! lynx was his attitude problem!
no but seriously. he was only being half sarcastic. otherwise he was actually opening up to lynx which was what lynx asked of him, right? so he was severely offended by this since he was only doing what lynx asked of him. even the idea of therapy was about his problems, not katze's.
"fuck you," he answered quietly, expression at this point turned fully cold and spiteful.

Lynx literally flinched when the other said that. Then he flipped to the next one. "And this one. It read: No swearing please.
And he sighed. "Sarcasm doesn't get us anywhere--it's a barrier, a wall."
He got up, and opened his desk, now rummaging for that book, that damn book. "...Now... You said a werewolf was a monster, correct? You like reading, so instead of answering and you'll probably stay in your pit unconvinced of whatever I say... I think this book might help you see my point." He picked up the novel, and looked at it. yes, this was it! "Can you catch? And yes, think of this as homework."
It was best honestly, for him to of course give the other the book, him to read it, and to see that even IF a werewolf was a monster, that a monster still had a choice of good and evil in the end--considering a werewolf is PART human.
