xander loves sam enough just fine, kthx! she's just asleep at his feet right now.

anyways, xander looked up at lynx with gleaming eyes. he was about two seconds away from thanking the psychiatrist but decided against it because he's a fucking ASSHOLE like that. instead he just slipped off his hoodie and bunched it up on the floor beside his chair. to be honest he felt kind of naked without it but it was so cool. he wasn't going to have heat stroke now.

"so, sup?" xander never talks in complete sentences btw.

"...I'm tired." He said softly, sinking into the chair. "And I would love to take a vacation. A nice, long, long suana break... Oh that sounds so good right now..."

Laughs. "But how could I? I'd spend the entire time worrying about you and the others...." Shakes his head. "One day all of you will be fine, and I'll take a permanent break."

at that xander just chuckled quietly. like they were ever going to be "fine." he wasn't being pessimistic, really. it was just that wasn't this place made just for the people who were beyond help?

nonetheless, he wouldn't mind a vacation himself. he would go to switzerland or something, somewhere it was really cold this time of year, with lots of snow. that would be boss.

He did not like it here, honestly. The weather was backwards, it was almost an hour-and-a-half drive home every day--and of course he missed his friends that he had back in the states. Of course, he thought he could help someone, and that was why he took this job. He had faith he could help Xander out, and he would!

He'd even argue with a judge for him in court!

So Lynx observed the other carefully. "I'm retiring after I'm done here."

at that xander did raise an eyebrow. that was pretty peculiar considering lynx's position. he couldn't figure out why lynx had come all the way out here anyway, rather than just counsel people closer to home, but his statement was even more weird.

"you're so young," the brunet pointed out in confusion.

"....Ah, well... There's a different in what I'm talking about than what you're probably used to. I'm retiring from my career because I have the money and... it's..." Shakes his head. "Nevermind. What you're thinking about is the age of retirement, which just went up, I believe..." Ponders a moment. "Well, that's just so you are able to collect Social Security."

He pondered a moment. "I'll probably write a few books.."

hurr the money. lynx could practically swim in all his money. kind of like scrooge mcduck in the duck tales movie, which i should totally go watch right now.

oh i see. a few books, eh?

"about me, right?" he grinned coyly. of course he was kidding but lynx is stupid.

"...Maybe. Who knows. I could write them over the cases I've had..." Is honestly musing over this. "And perhaps pick up fantasy writing? I mean... it can't be that difficult, can it? Horror, perhaps? I could use some things here for a good horror novel, I'm sure..."
