What exactly is this "face claim" thing?
A face claim, also called a "portrayed by" or "played by" [either shortened to "PB"], is a real-life model, whether actor, musician, or average person, who is used to portray a character's image.
Of course, when choosing a face claim for a character, you want to pick one that suits your character. You can search on your own, use forums to help, browse an existing collection, even use your own photos. But always try to find images that are not copyrighted, or get permission if you want to use them. Not doing so is considered stealing and is generally frowned upon.
You can find your own collections through search engines, but if you need a place to start, try these links.
This is a forum which you can join and post a topic describing the type of face claim you're looking for. Soon enough, other members will be suggesting PBs for you.
Hollow Art's main site has an enormous collection of PBs which you can browse, search, or request. Mostly there are 100x100 images listed alphabetically by model, but there are also things such as mood icons and lifejournal layouts of select PBs.
